Arrivano indiscrezioni sui nuovi processori Intel Core 2 Solo, destinati al settore dei mini-pc, decoder, sub-notebook (notebook di dimensioni estremanente ridotte), previsti sul mercato nel terzo trimestre 2007. A fornirli è HKEPC.
Le nuove versioni prenderanno il nome di Core 2 Solo U2200 e U2100, entrambe disporranno di una cache L2 di 1MByte con front side bus a 533Mhz e compatibilità con il Socket M. Stando ai dati pubblicati da HKEPC, queste nuove soluzioni garantiranno un Thermal Design Power (TDP) di appena 5Watt, valore estremamente ridotto se confrontato con i 65Watt dei processori Core 2 Duo e 30Watt delle soluzioni Core 2 Duo “Merom” per notebook.
